Day 1 – Delhi to Manali Volvo Journey

Your Spiti Valley tour from Delhi begins with an overnight journey to Manali by luxury Volvo bus. Travelers will board the Volvo bus from Delhi in the evening.

The journey from Delhi to Manali covers approximately 540 km and takes around 12–13 hours. During the overnight journey, travelers pass through beautiful towns like Karnal, Ambala, Chandigarh, Bilaspur, and Mandi while gradually entering the Himalayan region.

Day 3 – Manali to Kaza via Rohtang Pass & Kunzum Pass

After early breakfast, begin one of the most adventurous journeys of the Manali to Spiti Valley road trip.

The drive passes through some of the highest and most scenic mountain passes.

Route Highlights

Manali → Rohtang Pass → Gramphu → Batal → Kunzum Pass → Losar → Kaza

Travelers cross Rohtang Pass (3978 m) which offers spectacular views of glaciers and snow-covered peaks. The journey continues through rugged terrain and river valleys.

Further ahead, cross Kunzum Pass (4551 m), the gateway to Spiti Valley. Travelers often stop at the Kunzum Mata Temple for blessings before entering the valley.

Continue the journey to Kaza, the administrative capital of Spiti Valley.

Day 4 – Tabo & Dhankar Monastery Tour

After breakfast, proceed for a scenic excursion towards Tabo and Dhankar Monastery, two of the most historically important monasteries in Spiti Valley.

Tabo Monastery

Founded in 996 AD, Tabo Monastery is often called the “Ajanta of the Himalayas” because of its ancient murals, paintings, and scriptures.

Dhankar Monastery

Located dramatically on a cliff, Dhankar Monastery offers breathtaking views of the Spiti and Pin River confluence. Travelers can also hike to Dhankar Lake, a beautiful high-altitude lake above the monastery.

Return to Kaza in the evening.

Day 5 – Langza, Hikkim & Komic Village Tour

Today explore the highest villages in Spiti Valley.

Langza Village

Langza is famous for the giant Buddha Statue overlooking the valley and is also known as the Fossil Village because marine fossils can be found here.

Hikkim Village

Hikkim is home to the world’s highest post office. Travelers can send postcards to friends and family from this unique Himalayan location.

Komic Village

Komic is among the highest motorable villages in the world (4587 m) and offers stunning views of the Himalayan landscape. Visit the ancient Tangyud Monastery here.

Return to Kaza by evening.

Day 6 – Kaza to Chandratal Lake Camping

After breakfast, drive towards Chandratal Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalayas.

The journey passes through Losar and Kunzum Pass again before reaching Chandratal Lake.

Chandratal, also known as the “Moon Lake”, is famous for its crescent shape and crystal-clear blue water. Surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks, it is one of the most picturesque places in Spiti Valley.

Enjoy short walks around the lake and experience camping under the star-filled Himalayan sky.

Overnight Stay: Chandratal Lake Camp

Day 7 – Chandratal to Manali | Return to Delhi

After breakfast, begin the return journey from Chandratal to Manali.

The drive again crosses Batal, Gramphu, and Rohtang Pass before reaching Manali.
