Day-Wise Cycling Shimla Spiti Manali Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Chandigarh β Shimla
Distance by road: Approximately 120 km
Arrive in Chandigarh in the morning and meet the cycling expedition team. After a briefing about Cycling Shimla Spiti Manali Tour, bicycle inspection and safety orientation, transfer towards Shimla.
Depending on the group’s fitness level and arrival time, an introductory cycling section can be planned around the Shimla area.

Cycling Distance: Approximately 65β75 km
After breakfast, begin the first major cycling stage towards Narkanda.
The route takes you through beautiful Himalayan forests, mountain villages and gradually rising roads. Riders will experience their first sustained climbs and descents of the expedition.
Narkanda is surrounded by dense cedar and pine forests and offers beautiful mountain views.

Day 03: Narkanda β Sangla
Cycling Distance: Approximately 110β120 km
After an early breakfast, begin the ride towards Kinnaur.
The landscape changes dramatically as you enter the Sutlej and Baspa Valley region. The route includes long mountain sections, river views and winding Himalayan roads.
Depending on the group’s pace, selected difficult sections may be supported by the expedition vehicle.
Arrive in Sangla by evening.

Day 04: Sangla β Chitkul β Kalpa
Cycling Distance: Approximately 75β90 km
Today’s route combines some of the most beautiful landscapes of Kinnaur.
After breakfast, cycle towards Chitkul, one of the most famous villages of the Baspa Valley. After exploring the area, continue towards Kalpa.
Kalpa is famous for its spectacular mountain scenery and views towards the Kinner Kailash range.
Overnight: Kalpa

Day 05: Kalpa β Nako β Tabo
Cycling Distance: Approximately 105β120 km
Today the expedition enters the high-altitude landscape of Spiti.
Start early from Kalpa and ride through Kinnaur towards Nako. The terrain becomes increasingly rugged as you approach the Spiti region.
Continue towards Tabo, one of the most historically important settlements in Spiti.
Tabo is known for its ancient monastery and unique Himalayan architecture.

Day 06: Tabo β Dhankar β Kaza
Cycling Distance: Approximately 80β95 km
After breakfast, begin cycling deeper into Spiti Valley.
The route passes through dramatic barren mountains and traditional villages. A major highlight is the spectacular Dhankar region, situated high above the Spiti River.
Continue towards Kaza, the main town and administrative centre of Spiti Valley.
After check-in, relax and recover from the day’s ride.

Day 07: Kaza Local Cycling β Key β Kibber β Chicham β Langza β Hikkim β Komic
Cycling Distance: Approximately 55β70 km
Today is dedicated to exploring the famous high-altitude villages around Kaza.
Ride towards Key Monastery, followed by Kibber and Chicham.
Continue towards the famous villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komic.
This is one of the most spectacular cycling days of the expedition, with dramatic mountain landscapes in every direction.
Return to Kaza by evening.

Day 08: Kaza β Losar β Kunzum Pass β Chandratal
Cycling Distance: Approximately 80β95 km
This is one of the most challenging and memorable stages of the expedition.
After an early breakfast, start towards Losar and continue towards Kunzum Pass, situated at approximately 4,590 metres.
The climb to the pass is physically demanding and weather conditions can change rapidly.
After crossing Kunzum, continue towards Batal and the Chandratal approach.
Subject to road conditions and local permissions, reach the Chandratal area and settle into the campsite/accommodation.
Overnight: Chandratal / Batal area

Note: Chandratal access is seasonal and weather-dependent. If access is not possible, the overnight halt will be shifted to a suitable alternative such as Batal/Sissu/other operational accommodation.
Day 09: Chandratal β Batal β Chhatru β Gramphu β Manali
Cycling Distance: Approximately 110β125 km
After breakfast, begin the challenging descent towards Manali.
The route passes through Batal, Chhatru and Gramphu before reaching the Atal Tunnel/Lahaul side and eventually Manali.
This section can include rough mountain terrain, loose gravel and water crossings depending on the season and current road conditions.
The expedition support vehicle remains with the group for rider and equipment assistance.
Arrive in Manali by evening.

Day 10: Manali β Chandigarh
Distance by road: Approximately 300 km
After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
Depending on the group’s preference and operational planning, the final section can be covered by cycling on selected safe stretches with support vehicle assistance, while the main transfer continues towards Chandigarh.
Arrive in Chandigarh by evening.
